Born into a Catholic family in Ghana, Akwasi O. Osei first encountered the Bahá'í Faith in medical school in 1978. He became a Bahá'í two years later. Dr Osei, an Esperantist and a medical practitioner, is a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of Ghana.
