Selected Writings of Bahá’u’lláh

Though most people see the world's religions as separate, unrelated entities, the Bahá'í Faith sees them as stages in a single process. Each represents a new stage in God's progressive revelation of His will for humanity. These successive revelations have always been the true source of moral values, ideals, and standards.

The revelation of Bahá'u'lláh (1817-1892) is the most recent stage in the process. It marks the collective "coming of age" of humanity and lays the moral foundation for a global society.  Bahá'u'lláh is the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, the youngest of the independent world religions. The cornerstone of His teachings is the establishment of the unity of humankind. Bahá'u'lláh taught that there is but one religion and that all the Messengers of God--among them Krishna, Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad--have progressively revealed its nature. Together, the world's great religions are expressions of a single, unfolding divine plan.

Selected Writings of Bahá'u'lláh provides an overview of the Prophet's teachings, including sections on God and His Messengers, the path to God, spiritual aspects of the world civilization described by Bahá'u'lláh, the nature of the human soul and its journey after death, and the renewal of God's covenant with humanity. This volume complements new Bahá'í Publishing editions of Bahá'u'lláh's major works that have appeared in recent years: Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh (2005), The Book of Certitude (2003), and The Hidden Words (2002).
