In Thanks:  We have a lasting gratitude to all those remarkable Montserratians who so kindly included us as their true friends. It is not possible to single out each individual but a few do appear in these pages and I have drawn on them freely.

We are indebted to the Baha'i Community of the Leeward Islands for their continual love and encouragement, especially when their own resources and manpower were low.

It should be understood these experiences depict only a very small part of our activities. At times it seemed we were just onlookers, that others had undergone a much greater struggle, preparing the way for us. The connection between the two was frequently there.

A very special thanks is due to Margaret, my wife who endured far more than I, but whose round-robin letters, "Dear Everyone", to our scattered family, continued to keep them in touch, and in many ways formed a significant part of these memoirs.
