Beginning with the childhood of Bahá’u’lláh, this clear, straightforward and easily readable sequel to Hour of the Dawn: The Life of the Báb looks briefly at the same period as its companion volume but focuses on the life of the person of Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith. Also in this series is Servant of the Glory about the life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.

We see Him as the exemplary disciple of the Báb, thrown into the Black Pit of Tehran where he received intimation that He was the Promised One of all ages. Bahá’u’lláh was banished from Persia, and we follow Him on His journeys from Tehran to Baghdad, to Constantinople, to Adrianople and finally to 'Akká, the Most Great Prison on the edge of the Ottoman Empire where, He tells us, He was welcomed 'with banners of light'.
